The Global Centre for Contextual Safeguarding (GCCS) is located within the Sociology Department at Durham University. The GCCS team is made up of dedicated staff who work in partnership with practitioners and senior leaders to collect data on the implementation, and implications, of Contextual Safeguarding across the UK and beyond.

The team is led by Professor Carlene Firmin who started the Contextual Safeguarding approach while at the University of Bedfordshire, before moving to Durham University in September 2021.
