Gemma is a research assistant with expertise in sociology, social policy, and mixed-methods research. Her work focuses on the experiences of communities, with particular emphasis on inclusive education, special education needs and disability (SEND), and service partner employment. Gemma has previously worked on multiple externally funded projects, overseeing research design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination, and has extensive experience managing projects from conception to completion.

Her methodological expertise spans qualitative and quantitative approaches, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, and co-production, with advanced skills in SPSS and NVivo using grounded theory, thematic, and content analysis. She has led successful grant and ethics applications and has worked with stakeholders across multiple organisations. Gemma has additionally presented research findings to academic, policy, and public audiences.
