The Contextual Safeguarding programme is delivered by the Contextual Safeguarding Team. The team is located within the Sociology Department at Durham University. The team is made up of dedicated research staff who work in partnership with practitioners and senior leaders to collect data on the implementation, and implications, of Contextual Safeguarding across the UK and beyond.
The team is directed by Professor Carlene Firmin who started the Contextual Safeguarding approach whilst at the University of Bedfordshire, and has been based at Durham University since September 2021.
